Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With ASHI Wilderness First Aid, instructors certified to teach CPR, AED and basic first aid, and have wilderness experience teach you how to respond to emergencies. This comprehensive course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and guidelines.
Preparation and Assessment, Preventing and Caring for Injuries, Environmental Hazards, Biological Hazards and Medical Emergencies.
Information-filled slide presentation covering wilderness first aid from a basic understanding of emergency response in an outdoor setting to specific techniques and considerations for a wide range of incident scenarios. We will also have outdoor training scenarios for you to use the information learned in the course.
Notebooks, Pens/ pencils, and attentiveness will be required for Saturday. Sunday will require clothing suitable for outdoor activities in the wilderness environment i.e. hiking boots, jacket, pants, thermal underwear, mid layer clothing, beanie (in will be cold) and preparation for some moderate hiking. Food will not be provided in this course so be prepared with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You may sign up for accommodations for $25 or choose to find your own cabin/ hotel room for Saturday night.

We will be discussing and covering the subjects in a classroom setting from 8am - 5pm
SUNDAY JANUARY 21ST
Weather permitting we will be outside practicing the skills taught on Saturday in the wilderness.
Skills practice will be taught from 8am - 5pm
